Today, we are proud to be one of the founding corporate sponsors of WISP, or Women in Security and Privacy. We met Elena Elkina, Co-founder and Chief Evangelist of WISP, and her team a few months ago at a security event in Texas, and we were instantly drawn to their dedication, insight, and unique approach.
Started in 2015, WISP (wisporg.com) has a mission to promote the development, advancement, and inclusion of women in the information security and privacy fields. I think our CTO, Prakash Linga put it best when he said, “to tackle today’s tough security and privacy challenges, we need to foster new perspectives and fresh thinking. By building and advancing a more diverse community of security leaders, we can accelerate our ability to solve these problems in new and more effective ways.”
For us, this is an investment in the future of our industry. We’ve long said that our new way of work requires us to think differently about privacy and security. It’s not reasonable to expect that the data security strategies born in the client-server era can scale to the size and velocity of data in the cloud.
