Netskope and Vera: Partnering to Deliver Cloud Data Protection for the “Last Mile”

At Vera, it’s our job to ensure that our customers can protect any kind of information, anywhere it travels. And we know we can’t achieve that if we don’t make working with that secure data as simple and frictionless as possible.

We’ve been fortunate enough to partner with a rich ecosystem of innovative companies, including Okta, Dropbox, Centrify, and VMware. Each of our partners is dedicated to not only making accessibility and collaboration in the cloud more effective, but also protecting their customers’ valuable data.

Today, I’m excited to share we’re expanding this ecosystem, bringing that ethos of “last mile” data protection to almost any cloud platform. We’re partnering with Netskope to transform the way businesses around the world protect their most confidential data, in the cloud and beyond. As their newest strategic partner, Vera is combining our powerful encryption, access control, and rights management platform with Netskope’s new Information Rights Management (IRM) Platform. Through this strategic partnership, Netskope and Vera are giving our customers the ability to establish persistent, dynamic protection over sensitive information at the moment it matters most: when it’s shared beyond the cloud and through the “last mile.” By using Netskope’s patented Context Engine to capture and analyze significant transaction details, businesses can now marry that intelligence to our our own data-centric security model, giving security the teams the ability to automatically identify, classify, and secure sensitive data moving through the cloud.

“With the ongoing avalanche of data breaches, businesses today are begging for a different, more profound approach to security. The only way to achieve true protection is to secure the data itself.”
– Ajay Arora, CEO & Co-founder of Vera

We’ve said it before, and it’s worth repeating: perimeter-based approaches to information security can’t scale to the kinds of collaboration and information sharing required by modern organizations. IT and security pros must make certain that security travels with the data itself—not only to protect it from cybercriminals, but also to ensure that the confidentiality, integrity, and auditability of that data is enforced. When financial services companies, healthcare providers, and even manufacturing firms have internal and external requirements to protect sensitive data, it’s critical to shift the model away from the perimeter. Cloud transformation is only accelerating that need, and we’re excited to be leading the charge.

This is just the first step in this partnership between Netskope and Vera, and we’re looking forward to working closely with their amazing team and innovative customers in the immediate future. To learn more about data-centric security, join me for this week’s webinar on Wednesday, October 25th at 9:00am PT and learn how you can use Vera, alongside your other network security tools to to protect any kind of data, track it after it’s left your control, and instantly revoke access, no matter who has it.

There’s still room, so save your seat and register today: http://bit.ly/2xvQNZV  I hope to see you there.
